Vertoro: Moving towards large-scale production of “green oil”

June 2020 – Official opening of unique pilot plant at Brightlands Chemelot Campus in Geleen

IDEALFUEL consortium partner Vertoro is scaling up its production capacity of “green oil” at the newly opened ‘Multi Purpose Pilot Plant’ on the Brightlands Chemelot Campus in Geleen (NL). 

At the pilot plant, Vertoro will produce so-called Crude Lignin Oil (CLO). This oil will be refined and converted in the IDEALFUEL project into a Biogenic Heavy Fuel Oil (Bio-HFO) for use in the maritime fleet. You can learn more about the IDEALFUEL project here.

With the opening of the new pilot plant, Vertoro can scale up the production of CLO to 150 litres per day. This is an important step towards future large-scale production. If you want to know more about the opening of the pilot plant click here or check out the video below.
