During the 13th International Symposium on Scientific Bases for the Preparation of Heterogeneous Catalysts, Alexandra Radu of TUe gave a talk on the preparation of the catalysts used for the hydrodeoxygenation reaction required for the conversion of lignin-based feedstocks. Obtaining high surface area materials with dispersed active sites is of outmost importance for achieving high catalytic activity. Flame spray pyrolysis, hydrothermal synthesis and classical impregnation were among the techniques discussed during the event with around 149 attendees and 48% of the attendees were from th industry.
